The 5 Hour Course for California Architects will be available in March 2011. Please bear with us while we transition to a new office space.
The course fee for our 5 Hour Accessibility Course for California Architects is only $59.95. Nearly half of what other course providers charge.
Make sure you are entering the numeric address and zip code that appears on your credit/ATM card bill. The address information must match your billing card statement due to our security fraud detection measures in place to protect our customers. The architect's name taking the course must be on the credit/ATM card.
Yes. The Board does not approve course providers, however our course contains the required instructional material. California licensed architects in over 32 states (including California) renewed their licenses using our disabled access course in 2009 (generally, licenses renew only in "odd" years).
After course completion, the required information will be sent to the email address that you submit when you initially signed up for the course. You can also obtain the information by clicking the "My Account" section while logged into the site. Simply transfer the email information (in writing) to your license renewal application that you send to the Board.
You can conveniently choose when to take the course and also choose how long it takes you to complete it. In other words, you can log-in, start, stop, and then re-enter the course. Taking the course can be as flexible as you would like it to be. You must complete the course within 60 days of purchase.
2011 license renewals require a minimum of 5 hours in disabled access coursework. Currently, we only provide a 5 hour course.
The course is strictly the reading of text only, similar to a PowerPoint presentation. The new federal 2010 ADA requirements are discussed in detail, in addition to very specific California accessibility requirements. There are no graphics. There is no test or quiz requirement to complete the course, but you must fully finish the course in order to gain the credit for taking it.
Just log back in the site with your username and password, using the "User Login" section in the left sidebar. You will then be presented with "My Courses" and well as a link "Next Course Page" in the left sidebar.
The link Next Course Page automatically tracks the furthest page within the course that you have viewed. Simply click this link to pick up where you left off.
No. While the course satisfies the disabled access coursework requirements for architect license renewals in California, often you can simply “self-report” the coursework and obtain the educational credit for other third parties. Please contact the entity that that you wish to report CEUs to for their self-reporting requirements.
The instructor who developed the CaliforniaDAE course is a licensed California accessibility professional with over 20,000 hours of direct California and federal accessibility experience. More information will be provided in the information email that you will receive when you complete a course.
