AB 1145 Signed By Governor

This bill increased the maximum fee for renewal of an architect's license from $200 to $400.  The old $200 license fee cap has been at the current level for 20 years.  With new program mandates and the increase in costs of doing business, the Board's current amount of revenue was inadequate to pay for the level of service that is needed to protect consumers.

California Architects Nationwide Use CaliforniaDAE

California licensed architects in over 32 states nationwide have taken a CaliforniaDAE disability access course for their license renewal.

CaliforniaDAE offers a convenient, informative, and economic solution to California architects.

AB 623

California Architect's License Renewal Fees to Double?

Existing law imposes various fees on architects and applicants for a license, which are deposited in the California Architects Board Fund, a continuously appropriated fund.

Under existing law, the fee for renewing a license may not exceed $200.

Under proposed AB 1145, the fee for renewing a license would increase to a maximum of $400.

This proposed bill may be signed into California law toward the end of September, 2009.

Stay tuned.

Happy Labor Day.
